OUR FAIR CITY COMIC BOOK / illustrations and comic cover - 2013
In conjunction with their ongoing audio drama saga, Our Fair City publishes a regular supplemental comic book. For the second issue, I created a four-page comic strip that also served as the book's cover. The premise of Our Fair City revolves largely around Hartlife, an omnipresent bureaucratic government that developed out of a present-day insurance company. This gives Our Fair City license to satirize corporate culture from the vantage point of science fiction. For the comic cover, I decided to delve into this corporate backstory through the idea of worshiping mysterious objects -- in this case, a long-forgotten Hartlife billboard, created using some of the same generic stock images that make up a lot of the photographic landscape of contemporary corporate design.
